Usage:
goldendict [OPTION]... [WORD|URI]

GoldenDict dictionary lookup program

WORD A word or quoted phrase to translate
URI "[golden]dict://[/]word or phrase to translate[/]"

Options:
-h, --help Show command-line help and exit
--log-to-file Turn on debug mode
--toggle-scan-popup Toggle scanning mode on/off
--group-name=GROUP Set current group of dictionaries in the main window to GROUP
--popup-group-name=GROUP Set current group of dictionaries in the popup window to GROUP

If another GoldenDict instance is running, the second instance exits immediately, the options --toggle-scan-popup, --group-name, --popup-group-name affect the running instance, WORD or URI is translated in the running instance's popup window.
Otherwise, all options affect the initial state of the new instance, WORD or URI is translated in the new instance's main window.

Assigning a global keyboard shortcut to the "goldendict --toggle-scan-popup" command in system preferences emulates a scanning-mode-toggling global hotkey.
